Baditsǝni — Genesis 1:1- 30

[Kibaku] Akwa baditsǝni, Hyal mǝrti ati aka dunya.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

[Kibaku] Dunya ni adi aka mimawɛ, ba kuldakur, dunya ni tsuwɛ tǝ kuthlǝ mǝgǝl pǝlǝk, Mamblǝ Hyal tsuwɛ ada hyati ata nkǝra yimi ni.

And the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was on face of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

[Kibaku] Hyal ka nkǝrɛ, ngyar ka paraku ya adai, paraku ka tsantǝdzi.

Then God said, let there be light, and there was light.

[Kibaku] Hyal kǝ wula paraku ni, kǝ ya daku; Hyal ka ndǝhǝba paraku aka kuthlǝ.

An God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.

[Kibaku] Hyal ka paraku ni ata tsǝtsi, kuthlǝ tsuwɛ Hyal ka tǝ avǝrvǝr. ahani ntsǝhaku aka kula-kula vǝr nǝr tangkur.

God called the light day, and the darkness he called night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.

[Kibaku] Hyal ka nkǝrɛ, ngyar ka dabu buidzi akwa ntsa yimiyar ni, ka tǝ ndǝhǝba yimi aka yimi.

Then God said, let there be firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divided the waters from the waters.

[Kibaku] Ahani Hyal mǝrti dabu ni, ka ndǝhǝba yimi nam akur dabu ni akwa ntsa yimi nam ata nkǝra dabu ni, ahani ka mǝrtǝdzi.

Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament, and it was so.

[Kibaku] Hyal ka dabu ni Ati. ahani ntsǝhaku aka kulakula vǝr nǝr sǝdǝkur.

And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.

[Kibaku] Hyal ka nkǝrɛ, ngyar ka yimi nam akur ati ni tsǝmptǝnidzi ata kǝmaduku akwa vui duku, ka vi mbulǝ-mbulǝ tsantǝdzi, ahani ka mǝrtǝdzi.

Then God said, let the waters under the heaven be gathered together into one place, and let dry land appear, and it was so.

[Kibaku] Hyal ka vui nam mbulǝ-mbulǝ ni dunya, yimiyar nam tara tsǝmptǝnidzi ata kǝmaduku akwa vui duku ni tsuwɛ, tǝ ka tǝdar kyagha. Hyal ka wula kǝ ya daku.

And God called the dry land earth, and the gathering of the waters he called seas. and God saw that it was good.

[Kibaku] Hyal kǝ nkǝrɛ, ngyar ka dunya ni sǝba aka kusar, kaka thaliyarɛ nam ada ya muya, fuɛyarɛ nam ada ya mardar, apa kǝrdar, kǝlara muya aka nkǝrni, ata dunya ni, ahani ka mǝrtǝdzi.

Then God said, let the earth bring forth grass, herb that yield seed, and the fruit tree that yield fruit, according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth, and it was so.

[Kibaku] Dunya ni kǝ sǝba tǝ kusar, thaliyarɛ nam ada ya aka muya apa nkǝrdar, fuɛyarɛ nam ada ya madar, nkǝlara wulfǝ aka nkǝrni apa nkǝrdar, Hyal kǝ wula ka ya daku.

And the earth brought forth grass, herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit whose seed is in itself according to its kind, and God saw that it was good.

[Kibaku] ntsǝhaku aka kula-kula vǝr nǝr makǝrkur.

so the evening and the morning were the third day.

[Kibaku] Hyal kǝ nkǝrɛ, ngyar ka parakuyarɛ buidzi akwa dabu ni nam ati ka tǝ ndǝhǝba vǝr nǝr tsǝtsi aka vǝr nǝr avǝrvǝr, kadar ndzai sǝr wulǝ sakayarǝ, vǝryarɛ, ba fáyarɛ.

Then God said, let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night, and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years.

[Kibaku] Kadar ndzai sǝr parakǝkur ati kadar la paraku ala dunya, ahani kǝ mǝrtitǝ.

Let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, and it was so.

[Kibaku] Hyal kǝ mǝrti paraku yarɛ dar sǝdǝ nam nga nga, paraku nam nga ni ala vǝr nǝr tǝtsi, nam kyǝdu ni tsuwɛ ala avǝrvǝr. tǝ mǝrti tsabiya yarɛ yɛ.

Then God made two great lights, the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser to rule the night, he made the stars also.

[Kibaku] Hyal putsǝ tǝdar akwa ati ni kadar la parakǝkur ala dunya.

God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth.

[Kibaku] kadar ya ndna ata nkǝra vǝr nǝr tsǝtsi aka avǝrvǝr, kadar ndǝhǝba paraku aka kuthlǝ. Hyal kǝ wula kǝ ya daku.

And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. and God saw that it was good.

[Kibaku] Ahani ntsǝhaku aka kula-kula vǝr nǝr faudǝkur.

So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

[Kibaku] Hyal kǝ nkǝrɛ, ngyar ka yimiyar ni sǝba aka sǝyarɛ nam aka mpikɛ hangkurari, ka ika yar tsuwɛ ndǝhǝtitǝ ata nkǝra dunya akwa dabu ni nam ati ni.

And God said, let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.

[Kibaku] Hyal ka mǝrti kulfa yarɛ nam nga nga, kaka sangǝ sǝyarɛ nam aka mpikɛ nam ada mwari, nam tǝ yimiyar ni tara sǝba akǝr hangkurari, apa kǝrdar, ika kaka sǝyarɛ nam aka bǝbǝkɛ apa kǝrdar, Hyal kǝ wula kǝ ya daku.

And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

[Kibaku] Hyal ka ladar barka, tǝ nkǝrɛ, yabamǝtǝ, agǝr hya hangkurari ata dunya ni.

And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

[Kibaku] ntsǝhaku aka kula-kula vǝr nǝr ntǝfukur.

And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

[Kibaku] Hyal kǝ nkǝrɛ, ngyar ka dunya ni sǝbaka suyarɛ nam aka mpikɛ apa kǝrdar, tha yarɛ, kaka suyar nam ada mwari aka kuta, mawi ntaku yarɛ kǝlara apa kǝrdar, ahani ka mǝrtǝtǝ.

And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

[Kibaku] Ahani Hyal mǝrti mawi ntaku yarɛ apa kǝrdar, tha yarɛ apa kǝrdar, suyar nam ada mwari aka kuta ata dunya ni apa kǝrdar, Hyal kǝ wula ka hya daku .

And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

[Kibaku] Hayl kǝ nkǝrɛ, ngyar ka mur mǝrti sal apa muri, aps kǝrmuri, kadar hya aka ndǝna ata kǝra kulfayar nam akwa kyagha, ika yarɛ kaka suyarɛ nam bǝbǝkɛ nam ada mwari akwa sabar, ata kǝra thayarɛ, ba ata kǝra kǝlara suyar nam ada mwari aka kuta ata dunys ni.

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

[Kibaku] Anhani Hyal ka mǝrti sal apa kǝrni, apa ndzir kǝma Hyal tǝ mǝrti tǝni, sal aka mwala tǝ mǝrti tǝdar.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

[Kibaku] Hyal ka ladar barka, Hyal kǝ nkǝrɛ ala dar, yabamǝdzi, agǝr hya hang, agǝr kǝti dunya ni, agǝr hyhǝyati, agǝr hya aka ndǝna ata kǝra kulfayar nam akwa kyagha, kaka su nam aka bǝbǝkɛ nam ada mwari akwa sabar, ata kǝra kǝlara su nam mwara aka mpikɛ ata dunya ni.

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

[Kibaku] Hyal ka nkǝrɛ, kulinahani, yi lagɛ kǝlara thali nam ada ya aka muya, nam ata dunya ni, ba kǝlara fuɛ, nam ada ya madar aka muya, ala gɛ dar kǝ ndzai sǝrsǝmɛ.

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

[Kibaku] Ala kǝlara mawi dunya ni tsuwɛ, suyar nam aka bǝbǝkɛ, suyar nam ada mwari aka kuta ata dunya ni, nam tǝ dar aka mpikɛ, yi ladar kǝlara thali ka sǝrsǝmɛ ala dar, ahani kǝ mǝrtǝdzi.

And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
